Eletise ready for Opening, unofficial visits

Life is a whirlwind for Kaiser junior Michael Eletise.

He’s been to the mainland and back a time or two in the past few months, taking in camps and clinics. He’s been impressive. Impressive enough to reel in 16 football scholarship offers.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound offensive lineman will be back on the continent this weekend. His dad, Nofo, and mom, Marie, will accompany him to Los Angeles on Friday, where he will compete in the Nike Opening Regionals. The Opening doesn’t happen until Sunday, though, so they will go from the airport to USC for an unofficial visit, Nofo said.

“He will meet with their new offensive line coach, Bob Connelly, coach Johnny Nansen and others. He’s excited about meeting them all,” Nofo texted.

USC has not made an offer to Eletise yet.

After visiting the Trojans, Michael and his parents will make an unofficial visit to UCLA, where former UH and NFL lineman Adrian Klemm is an assistant coach.

After the Opening, they’ll depart for Arizona to visit Keilani, Michael’s sister, who is a student at Grand Canyon University. While in Arizona, Michael will make unofficial visits to Arizona and Arizona State.

He has offers from Colorado, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Hawaii, UCLA, Cal, Arizona, Kansas, Nebraska, North Carolina, Washington, Washington State, Nevada, Florida State, Utah State and San Diego State.
