Former Gov gets offers from Ole Miss, Hawaii

Two Division I colleges — Ole Miss and Hawaii — offered a football scholarship this week to former Farrington athlete David Luafatasaga, according to the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance website. Raised in Samoa, Luafatasaga played linebacker for the Governors in football and forward in basketball before graduating in 2013. He is 6 feet 4 and 225 pounds and had 66 tackles for Arizona Western last fall as a freshman. Arizona State previously offered Luafatasaga a scholarship, according to JCfootball.com.

Cal, Arizona, Kansas jump on Eletise’s list

The past 24 hours have been like a whirlwind for Michael Eletise, though he hardly did a thing out of routine. In a span from Tuesday to Wednesday, the Kaiser offensive lineman received offers from Cal, and then Arizona. This afternoon, Kansas crashed the party. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior now has offers from Colorado, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Hawaii, UCLA plus Cal, Arizona and Kansas. He’s just a junior, but Michael Eletise has been a much sought-after young man. UCLA became the latest university to offer the 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior — he said he has gained 20 pounds since football season — a football scholarship on Thursday. Christman signs as preferred UW walk-on

Punahou tight end Matthew Christman signed his letter of intent and will be a preferred walk-on at Washington, Buffanblu coach Kale Ane confirmed Wednesday. Christman, a 6-foot-3, 235-pounder, caught seven passes for 127 yards and a TD during Punahou’s ILH championship season that ended with a loss to Mililani in the state title game. In other late signing news Wednesday, Kamehameha offensive lineman Radson Jang selected Army, and Punahou defensive back Robert Straton chose Dartmouth.
