By Brian McInnis on September 21, 2019

You could reach into the bag and pull out any number of huge plays from Friday night’s thriller between Kaimuki and Roosevelt at Skippa Diaz Stadium. Bulldogs running back Naomas Asuega-Fualaau channeled his idol Marshawn Lynch and went full beast mode on a 21-yard touchdown run, running straight into a would-be tackler in the secondary, shedding him and and spinning his way another dozen yards to glory. Rough Riders return man Shepard Kekahuna exploded up the middle on a kickoff, […]

GAME NIGHT 9/20: Roosevelt/Kaimuki

By Brian McInnis on September 20, 2019

Kaimuki 28, Roosevelt 26, FINAL ———- 9:55: And there’s the game-sealer as Koby Moananu comes down with Sky Ogata’s ball thrown deep into double coverage with 18 seconds left. Ballgame. 9:54: And it’s an UGLY punt that goes for only 6 yards up to the 50. Ogata has 27 seconds left to try to get into field goal range, no timeouts. 9:53: This is strange as Kaimuki has a delay of game after Asuega-Fuulaau is stopped for another loss of […]

Q&A: Kaimuki coach David Tautofi on showdown with Kaiser

By Paul Honda on September 13, 2019

It has been some time since a Kaiser-Kaimuki showdown carried this much weight. Or hunger. Kaimuki has enjoyed the fruit of its collective labor, succeeding in OIA Division II. It was enough that the OIA rules had the Bulldogs moving up to D-I after the 2018 season, but Kaimuki and its small enrollment/roster size remained in D-II. >> CLICK HERE TO READ TODAY’S GAME PREVIEW Kaiser’s pendulum of success and struggle over the past four decades is on the upswing […]
