Kahuku center Marcus Lombard named Polynesian Bowl All-Star

Kahuku center Marcus Lombard has been named a Polynesian Bowl All-Star. The 6-foot, 285-pound senior is the 18th Red Raider to be selected to the game in the four years of its existence and the fourth offensive lineman (Vili Fisiiahi, Enokk Vimahi, Micah Soliai Howlett). Lombard is the 23rd player from a Hawaii high school selected to the 2020 game. Kapolei had its third string quarterback starting and he learned quickly what the Kahuku defense is all about. Freddie Gregorio, a junior, wound up getting sacked 11 times as the Red Raiders took the bus ride home from Kapolei to the North Shore with a 39-0 victory Friday night. Kapolei’s more experienced quarterbacks Noa Bailey (collarbone) and Mason Gomez (ankle) are out with injuries. HAWAII GROWN: Timpview game turns into a Kahuku reunion

When Kahuku traveled to Utah to play Timpview two weeks ago, the game was moved from Friday to Saturday to better accommodate such a high demand for tickets. For Boise State junior Kekaula Kaniho, it worked out perfectly. The Broncos had a Friday night home game and Kaniho had four tackles and a pass breakup in a 14-7 win over Marshall. Kahuku gets its second 2020 Polynesian Bowl All-Star

Kahuku cornerback Kaonohi Kaniho, a 6-foot, 180-pound senior, has been named a 2020 Polynesian Bowl All-Star. Kaniho, who has committed to play for Boise State next year, where he will play with brother Kekaula, is back to form this season after suffering a knee injury that forced him to miss most of his junior season.
