Lileikis leads Hawaii qualifiers in Olympic Trials

Recent Punahou graduate ’Aukai Lileikis owns the highest seed among swimmers with Hawaii ties who qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which open Sunday in Omaha, Neb. According to the psych sheet released by USA Swimming on Wednesday, Lileikis is seeded 35th out of 115 qualifiers in the Men’s 200-meter Freestyle with a seed time of 1 minute, 49.90 seconds. The HHSAA / Enterprise Hall of Honor Committee added another 12 names to its exclusive list of the state’s greatest high school athletes on Sunday, bringing the number of immortals to 408 since the program began in 1983. Saffery savors Kapolei’s ‘magical’ run

After completing a deep postseason run, Kapolei softball coach Tony Saffery is probably due some time off from the field. Hukilau Cafe 7v7 tryouts on May 14

The Hukilau Cafe 7v7 football team will host a skills clinic and tryouts on Saturday, May 14 at Manana Park in Pearl City. The team is seeking players in grades 8, 9 and 10. Positions in Pylon 7v7 are QBS, RB, WR, LB, DB. Cost is $25. Walk-in registration will begin 7:15 am. Team Aloha, the girls basketball team organized by Mufi Hannemann and a staff of coaches, made a big splash in the 17-under 3-Stripe Elite Division at the Adidas Gauntlet tournament in Glendale, Ariz., Apr. 15-17. Playing University of Phoenix Stadium, Team Aloha won its pool with a 3-0 record. On Friday, they defeated EBC Elite 41-32 and TriCity 1 65-9. On Saturday, Team Aloha trounced AZ Sting Mac 78-15.
