Just a couple of recruiting tidbits to pass along. Waianae offensive lineman Onesimus Clarke says he is up to five Division I scholarship offers. The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder, who was named to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State first team this past season, says he has received scholarship offered from Boise State and Nevada to bring his total to five. Final rosters for JPS Paradise Classic

The first of two high school football all-star games at Aloha Stadium this month takes place this week as the Junior Prep Sports Paradise Classic will be held Thursday and Saturday featuring teams from Hawaii, Northern California and American Samoa. The original rosters for the two Hawaii teams had to be changed when the ILH announced it would enforce a rule already in place disallowing underclassmen to play in an all-star football game despite letting it go a year earlier. Battle of unbeatens looming in OIA East soccer

The next chapter of the Kaiser/Kalani soccer rivalry will be written in two days. Those East schools will both put undefeated records on the line Tuesday at Kalani, when Kaiser (7-0-1) visits the Falcons (6-0-2) with first place on the line. Kamehameha’s Kapua Gomera-Stevens is putting up Ruthian numbers in ILH girls soccer this season. Gomera-Stevens has scored 26 goals in nine matches for the Warriors, which is more than four other teams. She has scored 10 of her goals this season in two matches against Damien. Despite Kamehameha’s 63-3 goal differential this year, the Warriors (7-1-1) are tied with Punahou (7-0-1) in the ILH standings with ‘Iolani (6-0-2) just two points behind. It seems anyone can win at 112 pounds on any given day. Kamehameha state champion Ashley Gooman was the latest to show off her skills, going 3-0 at the OIA/ILH Round Robin at Mililani on Saturday. Gooman opened her day by pinning Pearl City’s Makana Cooper and closed it with a stoppage of Aiea’s Kristen Bareng. Her middle match of the day was the crowd-pleaser, though. Tagovailoa rushes for 27 yards in U.S. Army bowl

Saint Louis quarterback Tua Tagovailoa rushed for 27 yards and passed for 36 in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday in San Antonio. Tagovailoa, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser player of the year and an Alabama commit, had an 11-yard gain among his seven carries.
