The boys team title at the Chevron Hawaii State Wrestling Championships will probably come down to the wire, but a lot of how they get there might happen in the semifinals of the 132-pound bracket. With another state tournament looming, the top of the Hawaii Prep World Pound-for-Pound rankings remains unchanged with Corey Cabanban of Saint Louis, Iolani’s KJ Pascua and Micah Tynanes of Campbell their usual dominating selves. Eighteen of the 20 Hawaii Prep World’s pound-for-pound ranked wrestlers won their finals matches in league (Oahu Interscholastic Association, Interscholastic League of Honolulu and Maui Interscholastic League) championships this weekend. Only Kapolei’s Jayson Pagurayan (No. 4) and Kaiser’s Tiare Ikei (No. 10) lost, and they both fell to other p4p wrestlers. Pagurayan wrestled with an injured ankle.
