Wrestling fans can take a look at the following six videos from the Oahu Interscholastic Association championships Saturday at Leilehua.
The videos are of:
>> Radford’s Angela Peralta (No. 2 in Hawaii Prep World’s pound-for-pound rankings) pinning Waianae’s Kaleinani Makuaole in the 147-pound weight class for her fourth OIA title.
>> Pearl City’s Mikayla Abe defeating Kaiser’s Hanna Kannys 3-2 at 124 pounds for her third OIA championship.
>> Campbell’s Triston Santos (No. 10 p4p) defeating Leilehua’s Kaena DeSantos 10-2 at 128 pounds for his third OIA crown.
>> Roosevelt’s Macy Higa (No. 6 p4p) defeating Kaiser’s Tiare Ikei (No. 10 p4p) 6-2 at 114 pounds for her second OIA title.
>> Moanalua’s Logan Garcia (No. 7 p4p) pinning Kapolei’s Jayson Pagurayan (No. 4 p4p) at 122 pounds for his second OIA championship. Pagurayan was going for his fourth league title.
>> Kahuku’s Teniya Alo (No. 1 p4p) defeating Kaiser’s Roselani Ikei 11-5 at 134 pounds for her first OIA crown to go along with the two ILH championships she won.
It would have been nice to upload any of Pagurayan’s non-injured matches to display why he is a P4P wrestler. He nearly majored Mililani’s Nitta in the match he was injured. The week prior he beat Stalcup(LEI) by a score of 22-9.
Thank you for the videos though. Its nice to see some of the better wrestlers in the state battle it out.
