Oregon St. makes it 19 offers for Eletise

College football coaches know no end to a good day’s work. Michael Eletise has learned this quite well. Football season is months away, but the Kaiser junior received his 20th scholarship offer on Monday night. Oregon State came calling with assistant coach Chad Kauhaahaa — formerly of Wisconsin and, not so long before that, Baldwin High School — making the offer. Active Aztecs: Herbig is 3rd local OL offered

At 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds, it’s not easy to miss big Nate Herbig. The San Diego State Aztecs didn’t. They got their intel after Herbig’s performance at the Nike Opening in Los Angeles on Sunday. San Diego State is the newest school on a growing list of offers for Kapolei offensive lineman Toleafoa “Sean” Auwae. The Aztecs made an offer to him today, according to Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance. It’s the second offer to an island player in less than a month by SDSU. Eletise moving up at Nike Opening

Michael Eletise is one of six players who were a cut above at today’s Nike Opening regional at Los Angeles today. As a result, the Kaiser offensive lineman has been invited to Nike Football The Opening, which will be held at a later date. Texas Tech, Washington State offer Auwae

Kapolei offensive lineman Toleafoa “Sean” Auwae received two scholarship offers this week, according to the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance’s Facebook page. The offers came from Texas Tech and Washington State. The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder, who will be a senior for the Hurricanes this fall, was previously offered by Idaho State. San Jose State became the 18th university to offer a football scholarship to the Kaiser junior. Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance shared the news on its Facebook page this afternoon. Kong-Johnson to play for Princeton

Punahou goalkeeper Noelani Kong-Johnson will be going to Princeton to play soccer next season, according to her high school coach, Starr Johnson. The Buffanblu senior led her team to the ILH championship this season and a spot in the state tournament. She signed her letter of intent to play for the Tigers of the Ivy League. Kong-Johnson was also recruited by Oregon and UMass. Johnson is well aware of Kong-Johnson’s talent and said, “She is super smart, too.”

Nevada makes offer to Mililani’s Malepeai

Mililani running back Vavae Malepeai received a scholarship offer from Nevada, according to the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance’s Facebook page. Malepeai, a Honolulu Star-Advertiser first-team selection two years in a row, will be a senior next year for the defending Division I state champion Trojans. He’s previously received offers from Colorado, Washington, Cal, Hawaii, Utah State and Washington State.
