Polynesian Bowl teams set

Punahou’s Tufono commits to Idaho State

Punahou senior defensive lineman Jack-Eli Tufono has given an oral commitment to Idaho State. The 6-foot-5, 262-point Tufono announced his commitment on Twitter on Sunday night. Kamehameha’s Aleki adds Pac-12 offer

Kamehameha defensive end/linebacker prospect Andrew Aleki added his eighth scholarship offer on Sunday. Aleki, who is 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, picked up an offer from Utah to add to an offer sheet that includes Washington State, Oregon State, Air Force, Hawaii, UNLV, San Jose State and San Diego State. Kahuku’s Kaniho commits to Boise State

The reigning Honolulu Star-Advertiser defensive player of the year will continue his football career in the Mountain West Conference. Kahuku defensive back Kekaula Kaniho made his commitment public on Sunday, tweeting that he will accept a scholarship offer from Boise State. Justice Young (Kamehameha) and Mark Lehrner (Kalaheo) passed for two touchdowns each as Hawaii West overwhelmed American Samoa 43-6 in the JPS Paradise Bowl third-place game on Saturday at Aloha Stadium. The Hawaii West defense was almost impenetrable, coming up with six interceptions, including three by Iosefo Ah Ching-Noga (Farrington).
