Punahou’s Tufono commits to Idaho State

Punahou senior defensive lineman Jack-Eli Tufono has given an oral commitment to Idaho State.

The 6-foot-5, 262-point Tufono announced his commitment on Twitter on Sunday night. He also had a scholarship offer from UNLV.

    Good for him. Rarely have I seen an athlete choose a D1AA over a D1 program.

    The faddah was a stalwart on the Iolani team that destroyed Waianae in the 1980 Prep Bowl. You gotta wonder if Iolani offered him too. Or is Iolani content with concentrating just recruiting basketball players.
