Dunaway and Galdiano are ILH golf MVPs

Kamehameha’s Spencer Dunaway and Punahou’s Mariel Galdiano are the ILH boys and girls golf MVPs, the league announced recently. Both Dunaway and Galdiano finished as medalists in the ILH tournament. Brennan, Masani are ULS’s athletes of year

Pac-Five wide receiver Tsubasa Brennan was picked as University Laboratory School’s male athlete of the year, athletic director Jim Bukes announced Saturday. Basketball and volleyball player Markayisha Masani was chosen as the Junior Rainbows’ female athlete of the year. The school’s athletic award winners for 2014-15 are listed below. OIA softball all-stars announced

Kaiser’s Seli Aholelei earned the OIA’s player of the year in the East in voting of coaches around the league. Aholelei, who pitches and plays shortstop, led the Cougars into the state tournament where she collected four hits and pitched in both of her team’s games including a complete-game loss in 10 innings to Kamehameha. Punahou’s Micah Ma‘a was the biggest offensive threat for the Buffanblu on their run to the Division I state title, and now, Ma‘a is the ILH boys volleyball player of the year. Labasan is ILH softball player of the year

Maryknoll pitcher and leadoff batter Shearyna Labasan was named as the player of the year for ILH softball, the league announced recently. The Spartans’ John Uekawa was picked as coach of the year after the team finished as league runner-up and made it to the state Division I semifinals. Iolani wrestling clinic approaching

Respected coaches Dominic Boutain and Richard Goodwin will be clinicians at the upcoming Raider Wrestling Clinic beginning June 8. Boutain is the co-Head coach of Benicia (Calif.) and Goodwin is a three-time All-American from his days at San Francisco State. The clinic runs five days and is open to athletes over 11 years old.
