Campbell’s championship parade Saturday

A parade honoring the state champion Campbell baseball and softball teams and other Sabers teams will be held in Ewa Beach on Saturday. Mid-Pacific’s Shackles is Gatorade player of year

Mid-Pacific catcher Noah Shackles was chosen as the Gatorade Hawaii Baseball Player of the Year, the Gatorade Company announced Friday. The award recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the field. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound senior hit .355 with 16 RBIs and a .525 slugging percentage, leading the Owls (14-4) to the Division I state final this spring. Football player Kolby Castillo and wrestler Sarah Miner are Aiea’s male and female athletes of the year, Na Alii athletiec director Blake Moritsugu announced Tuesday.
