Saint Louis QB Tagovailoa is day-to-day

Saint Louis junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa hurt his calf in Saturday’s 31-27 victory over Kamehameha, according to Crusaders head coach Cal Lee. Tagovailoa missed parts of the game and returned, and Lee said his status is “day-to-day.” “He sprained his calf,” Lee said. “He hasn’t practiced this week, so we’ll see how it goes. Kamehameha QB Yam out for season

Kamehameha quarterback Thomas Yam is out for the season with a broken collarbone, according to numerous sources close to Warriors football. Yam, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound sophomore, was having a brilliant season. Through four games, he was 58-for-93 and nine touchdowns passing with only three interceptions for the fifth-ranked Warriors (3-1). He also had rushed for 230 yards and four TDs. Saint Louis holds on to No. 1 ranking

Saint Louis held off Kamehameha on Saturday, barely, and also kept ahold of its No. 1 ranking in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Top 10 football poll released Monday. The Crusaders (3-0), who have not been lower than No. 2 in the poll this season, scraped by with a 31-27 win over the Warriors at Aloha Stadium. All other teams in the poll remained in the same spot. By virtue of its upset of then-top-ranked Punahou on Saturday, ‘Iolani took over the No. 1 spot in the Honolulu Star-Advertier’s Top 10 volleyball poll released Monday. The Buffanblu fell to No. 2 after its 25-21, 25-20 loss to the Raiders at Punahou’s Hemmeter Fieldhouse. Saint Louis, Punahou and Mililani — the top three football teams in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Top 10 — are all within 10 places of each other in the MaxPreps national computer rankings.
