Arnold Martinez knew he was in for a challenge accepting the head football coaching position at Kaiser five weeks before the start of the season. Cal Lee recovering well after surgery

A lot of people were wondering why head coach Cal Lee missed No. 1 Saint Louis’ 21-7 victory over Kamehameha on Saturday. According to his brother, assistant coach Ron Lee, Cal Lee had a kidney stones problem. Kapaa loses lots of steam in KIF football

Instead of clinching a third straight Kauai Interscholastic Federation football championship like most people expected, Kapaa (6-1, 4-1) was hit with a surprise left hook by Kauai High on Saturday. The Red Raiders (1-6, 1-4) won their first game of the season, topping the two-time defending KIF champion Warriors 20-17 at Vidinha Stadium. Fresh off a 44-6 win over King Kekaulike, the Baldwin Bears returned to the Star-Advertiser’s high school football poll at the No. 8 spot this week.
