The boys and girls semifinals at the Officials tournament have finished at Leilehua High gym. There was a huge upset at 113 pounds with defending state champion and No. 4 pound-for-pound Kysen Terukina getting pinned by Baldwin freshman Kahilihiwa Joy. Joy went on to pin his opponent, unseeded Jude Michael Talana, in the final in 35 seconds. Loud cheers erupted at the Leilehua gym as Baldwin freshman Kahilihiwa Joy pinned Kamehameha’s Kysen Terukina in the semifinals of the Officials tournament. Joy was down 5-0 when he pulled off the pin of Terukina, who won the state championship at 113 pounds last season and is ranked No. 4 in Hawaii Prep World’s pound-for-pound rankings.
