The Maryknoll Spartans finished 3-1 with a consolation title at the Tarkanian Classic today in Las Vegas.
Maryknoll defeated Gillette (Wyo.) 53-50 today for ninth place. Spartans center Isabella Cravens and wing Kamalu Kamakawiwo‘ole were selected to the all-tournament team.
The Spartans, ranked No. 1 in the Star-Advertiser Girls Basketball Top 10, opened the tournament with a heartbreaking 49-47 overtime loss to Post Falls (Idaho). They defeated Buckeye Union (Ariz.) 62-26 on Thursday and Marlborough (Calif.) 69-27 on Friday.
Maryknoll (17-1) resumes Interscholastic League of Honolulu play at ‘Iolani on Jan. 4.
