By Nick Abramo on June 7, 2018

Saint Louis quarterback Jayden de Laura is biding his time. He’ll be a junior this fall and has never taken a varsity snap, yet he has one college Division I offer with another on the way. In addition, de Laura won the quarterback MVP at the GPA Football Showcase on Wednesday at Kamehameha’s Kunuiakea Stadium. Things appear to be lining up. The Vinny Passas quarterback lineage for the Crusaders appears like it will continue seamlessly. Passas is the quarterbacks coach […]

I think it’s just about cleaning up their technique. They have the right ideas,” Yanagi said. His background in coaching […]

The GPA Showcase kicked off on Tuesday at Kunuiakea Stadium with kicking-game specialists at noon. Then came offensive and defensive linemen, followed by skill-position prospects. All of the athletes are looking for knowledge and exposure. On hand are dozens of college […]

Q&A: MPI All-State shortstop Wyatt Young

By Paul Honda on June 4, 2018

Two months have passed since Wyatt Young shared his appreciation for dad’s barbecue ribs. That might be something the recent Mid-Pacific graduate takes to the mainland. Young will depart on Thursday to play for the Utah Marshalls, a summer baseball outfit. Two months on the continent, in a home with a kitchen, means he might have an opportunity to replicate dad’s cooking. Young gets one last chance to learn from the grill master soon. “I think we’re actually having ribs […]
