Campbell ace Ramos signs with Oregon

Campbell senior Markus Ramos signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the University of Oregon this morning at a signing ceremony at the Elks Lodge in Waikiki. Ramos played multiple positions, but has one of the top fastballs in the state. He is also a starting wide receiver on Campbell’s football team, which is currently entering the semifinal round of the Division I state championships. Dozens of signees were present at the ceremony. Second-seeded Campbell in Division I of the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA State Football Championships hosts Waiakea in the first round on Friday night. The Sabers (8-4) are back in the state tournament for the first time since 2013, when it went 1-1 beating Hilo before losing to Mililani. Moanalua forfeits game vs. Campbell

Injuries and illness have temporarily befallen the Moanalua football team. The school announced today that it will forfeit its consolation-bracket game against Campbell. The game had been scheduled for Friday at Mililani’s John Kauinana Stadium. Instead, Moanalua will not play until the upcoming HHSAA Division I state championship tournament. “We’ve had ongoing injuries.
