Tune makes inaugural Hudl 100

Punahou boys volleyball coach Rick Tune is featured in the inaugural Hudl 100. Hudl is a video analysis company for coaches and athletes. Tune is one of 100 coaches and administrators to be recognized on Hudl.com in the Hudl 100, an information package that “highlights sports and technology’s key players.” Tune has led the Buffanblu to the last five Division I state championships and the last seven of eight. Recent Moanalua graduate Austin Matautia, who signed with Hawaii, was one of 12 players who made the final cut for the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team on Monday. Matautia, one of three outside hitters selected to the squad, led Na Menehune to the state final as a senior and is the only OIA boys volleyball player to make the Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State Fab 15 list in four consecutive seasons. A quarter of the U.S. Men’s Olympic Men’s Volleyball Team who will compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, are from Hawaii. Kamehameha and Southern California alum Micah Christenson will be joined by Stanford alums Kawika Shoji (‘Iolani) and Erik Shoji (Punahou) on the 12-member team that will open play August 7 against Canada. Recent Moanalua graduate Austin Matautia and Punahou alum Kelsey Yogi are two of 19 players that have been invited to try out for the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team this summer. Matautia is one of six outside hitters and Yogi is one of two liberos that will try out. Moanalua rocks a colorful new scoreboard

For anyone who has been to the Moanalua gym recently, you’ve seen this big, colorful, beautiful new scoreboard. It’s way more than a scoreboard actually. It’s made up of multiple TV screens and can be used for presentations at school assemblies and also by coaches to show live or recorded videos of a practice session for instructional purposes.
