Matautia, Yogi invited to USNT tryout

Moanalua’s Austin Matautia has been invited to try out for the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team.

Recent Moanalua graduate Austin Matautia and Punahou alum Kelsey Yogi are two of 19 players that have been invited to try out for the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team this summer.

Matautia is one of six outside hitters and Yogi is one of two liberos that will try out. A total of 12 players out of the 19 will be selected to compete in the 2016 NORCECA Under-21 Continental Championships in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada from July 3-11.


Matautia will attend Hawaii next season while Yogi will play at Cal State Northridge.


Current UH setter Joe Worsley is also part of the 19 selected.
