If ‘Iolani has learned anything in the early season, it is a team which has two capable quarterbacks. Senior Jonah Chong, last season’s starter, and junior Samuel Faumuina both had their moments in a 31-10 triumph over host Aiea in an OIA-ILH Division I game Friday. Logic would tell you, Roosevelt should keep everything the same after winning the OIA Division II title last year. That’s not the case this season as the Rough Riders switched their offense from the split-back veer to the run-and-shoot. The family of King Kekaulike quarterback Franco Melgar Martich moved from Argentina to Hawaii in search of a better life. Hunter Fujimori rules OIA boys tennis

Mililani’s Hunter Fujimori now has a boys singles title to go along with the doubles crowns he’s won at the OIA Tennis Individual Championships. Fujimori beat Pearl City’s Rylan Woo 6-3, 6-4 in the boys singles final. Fujimori, a junior, had won OIA doubles titles with Tobey Chang in 2017 and Aidan Rooney last season.
