Kamehameha and Hawaii Prep successfully defended titles in the Queen’s Medical Center/HHSAA Girls Soccer State Championships on Saturday night. You can read our story on both here. The ILH swept the girls basketball tournaments on Saturday with ‘Iolani winning a second straight D-I championship by beating Konawaena and Hanalani earning the first team state championship since joining the HHSAA in 2000 with a 40-37 win over Mid-Pacific in Division II. The NFL released its list of 337 players selected to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine on Friday with four players from Hawaii high schools making the cut. Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (Saint Louis), Notre Dame defensive back Alohi Gilman (Kahuku), Utah defensive end Bradlee Anae (Kahuku) and Fresno State offensive tackle Netane Muti (Leilehua) will be at the event Feb. 24-Mar. 1 in Indianapolis. Defending state champion Punahou is the No. 1 seed as it goes for back-to-back state titles for the fourth time since 2006 in the Queen’s Medical Center/HHSAA Boys Soccer State Championships beginning Monday. Kalaheo announces football coach Darrell Poole has retired

Kalaheo High School is accepting applications for its head football coaching position after announcing that Darrell Poole has retired after eight seasons in charge of the Mustangs program. “Darrell Poole has retired from coaching football at Kalaheo after 7 years as the Head Varsity Football Coach and many years being part of the Mustang Ohana,” the school said in a press release. “Kalaheo would like to thank Coach Poole for all his years of service to our student athletes.” Poole […]
