FOURTH QUARTER

Gorman will take a knee and that will be it …NO. They fake the run and throw a deep ball to the end zone. Incomplete. Absolutely classless move by the Gaels. Now it’s over. Red Raiders have 18-game winning streak snapped. Bishop Gorman has now won 44 in a row.

Kahuku turns it over on downs after picking up a first down.

Gorman starts on the Kahuku 47 with 4:03 remaining. Cianelli picks up 3. Thompson-Robinson with a 14-yard catch to the 30 as Gorman still throws it around. Cianelli stopped by Ah You for a yard. Ah You, Kaniho, Sauvao have been really good tonight for Kahuku. Red Raiders whistled for a defensive pass interference. Ball at the 14 with 2:31 remaining. Tate Martell 14-yard TD pass to Dorian Thompson-Robinson. 35-7.

Another touchback. Haven’t gotten to see Stokes Nihipali-Botelho return one tonight. Second intentional grounding call on Maiava loses 20 yards to the 2. Kahuku punts to the 47.

Cianelli runs twice for 8 yards. Third-and-2. Martell hits Nailor for 20 yards to the 22. Martell runs for about 8 yards but fumbles again. Nihipali-Botelho has a shot to recover it but can’t and somehow Gorman jumps on it. Kahuku missed what might have been its last chance there. Martell can’t get away from Kesi Ah-Hoy who tries to rip the ball loose. Third-and-3 at the 5. Pitch to Dorian Thompson-Robinson who gets the first down at the 2. Kaniho blows up the run at the 2. He’s had a good game showing off for scouts in Las Vegas. Brevin Jordan 3-yard TD pass from Martell. 28-7.

Kahuku starts on own 43. Second play of drive, miscommunication in the backfield and Maiava gets popped and fumbles. Gorman recovers on the Kahuku 40.

Two incomplete passes as Kahuku gets pressure on Martell and Gorman will go for it on fourth-and-8 from the 43. Martell overthrows a receiver deep in the end zone and Kahuku takes over.

THIRD QUARTER

Cianelli with a 15-yard run to the 45 of Kahuku. Cianelli picks up 2. Quarter ends.

Kahuku comes out in a different formation and Bishop Gorman has to call timeout. Red Raiders start on their 20. Kahuku moves it inside Gorman territory as Harmon Brown picks up 7 and then 14. False start on Kahuku makes it second-12 at the Gorman 48. Play-action pass and Maiava finds Lombard for 8 yards. Third-and-4 at the 40. Fourth-and-4 after no gain. Play-action and Lombard has the catch but is drilled by Bubba Bolden and drops it. Huge hit forces turnover on downs.

Gaels start on their 20 and Cianelli picks up 6. Now 11 more as Gorman picks up a first down. Second-and-6 and Kekaula Kaniho with a HUGE sack to force third-and-long. Martell is forced all the way back inside his own 10 and then he somehow eludes everybody and picks up 20 to the Kahuku 49. What an unbelievable scramble run by Martell to move the chains. Cianelli now breaks off a 27-yard run to the 17. Martell’s first-down pass is batted down at the line. Third-and-3 at the 10 as Sauvao stops Cianelli after a gain of 7. Kahuku stops the run on third down. Derek Ng attempts a 27-yard field goal but Kahuku is called for roughing the kicker to give the Gaels a first down. First-and-goal at the 5. Pass is incomplete. Second down. Cianelli stopped at the 3. Third-and-goal. Martell rolls out and scores on a 3-yard TD run. Roughing-the-kicker penalty is costly. 21-7, 5:54.

Kahuku with a personal foul on the kickoff so it will start on its 10. Now with a false start. First-and-15 from the 5. Harmon Brown with the direct snap at QB and he has two 3-yard runs to make it third-and-9. Now a delay of game. Kahuku piling up the penalties here. Vakapuna stopped for a loss of 1 by Haskell Garrett and Kahuku will punt from own end zone.

Screen to the TE, Brevin Jordan and Kahuku misses about 4 tackles. 18-yard TD pass from Martell to Jordan on a play Kahuku should have wrapped up near the 10. Gaels score on first play of second quarter.

Vakapuna with four carries for 9 yards. Kahuku facing third-and-7 on its 44. QB Sol-Jay Maiava picks up nothing on the QB draw. Kahuku will punt.

@Rickey, point taken, but BG has done that to Texas, Florida and California, as well as Utah and Arizona. So whats your point? BG is just at a different level.

As far as passing game, c’mon people, Sol-Jay is a freshman qb. It does take time to develop a passing game. The BG defense ate up teams with far better passing offenses. and you expect Big Red to just magically pass the ball like crazy? Several pass plays were open, but dropped balls and elite speed in coverage really shut down the passing game.

It’s too bad Kahuku isn’t a private school, would be awesome to be able to play a national schedule like BG.

  2. Hau’ulaBoy September 18, 2016 1:23 am

@Rickey: Sorry you feel that way, but from my point of view the boys were flyin around, made some big hits and missed some tackles. All in all it looked like they could have done a little better, but thats water under the bridge. Im not sorry if we win states again against whatever school your from. It is what it is. Just like you said.

  3. AUWE September 18, 2016 5:24 am

Kahuku needs to develop a passing game just as much as all the keyboard warriors need to develop some class!
Gorman is pretty much a national all star team. It’s not rocket science. Atleast kahuku had da coconuts to take on #1 in the country, not #2,3,4,5,6 and so on. So if your team so much better then by all means go schedule a game lol! See how that works out for you…

  4. Rickey September 18, 2016 6:07 am

@88 they earned respect beacause they actullay tried to win the game not dive left dive right the whole game while being down the whole game. Kahuku out here running pop warner plays. They looked embarrassing out there like we local people don’t know how to read a playbook besides run left run right.

  5. Rickey September 18, 2016 6:11 am

@hau’ula you don’t have to be sory about winning states. Glad to see you actually respect my opinion instead of bashing on me. Thanks

  6. I love 88 September 18, 2016 6:37 am

I am still waiting to hear any Kahuku Fan comment back to this. Several “infamous” posters made asinine statements such as, “Bishop Gorman has never seen smash mouth football like what our boys will bring.”

Then I commented several times with rebuttals such as, “what makes you think Kahuku’s smash mouth brand of football is any more physical than big country boys from Texas?”

And they said Kahuku would win because of this. Well, there was no smashing going on last night by Kahuku other than Kahuku getting hit and not liking it.

It looked like a Varsity team was playing against a JV team last night. And it took milking the clock by the “Great Kahuku Football” team to not lose by 50.

And Kahuku will come back with “well that is the style that we use.” Um, yeah that is the style you use when you play inferior teams.

Amazing how so many people couldn’t see after 1 series, maybe 2 at most that it wasn’t going to work unless BP was getting paid off by the Vegas bookies.

But they continued to use it knowing that they had no chance. But they can disguise it by saying it’s our brand of football. Well your brand of football gave you absolutely no chance of winning. A team of 25 girls scouts could have been more competitive. At least those girl scouts would have passed and tried to win.

  7. Anubis September 18, 2016 7:58 am

Not sure why this article is saying BG was classless in the the last seconds of the game! It’s football, you play till the refs call it or time runs out! With all the trash talking Hawaii fans was doing against BG I can see reasoning behind that! But Truth is its all about ranking and points scored and allowed! Gorman is trying to stay ahead of IMG out of Florida and with that you need points! I’m from Hawaii but a lot of fans got their emotions to mixed up in this game! All this talk about “Gorman hasn’t seen the type of smash mouth football that Kahuku plays and that Kahuku defense will be the best Defense Gorman has ever played against” come on people! Emotions aside Gorman’s strength of schedule should have painted a clear picture of what BG faces during its first 6 weeks of football. True Kahuku is a great team but a lot of people wasn’t giving BG the respect that they deserved! Let’s not talk about recruiting all over the nation crap! Kahuku knew exactly who Gorman was and is and played them regardless. Respect to both programs

  8. 88 September 18, 2016 8:32 am

Don’t forget to mention the SPREAD. Don’t think they covered. Maybe that’s why there is so many disgruntled posts.

  9. BG Alumni September 18, 2016 9:18 am

If Kahuku wants to be number 1 in the state of Hawaii, then they can remain with the 1 dimensional offense. But if they have greater dreams and goals such as to be the number 1 team in the nation like BG, then they’ll definitely need to do something different. They have the size but lack the speed and balance of an effective offense.

I guess the real question for Kahuku and it’s coaches is “What is your goal?” Are you satisfied being the number 1 neighborhood team? Or do they have greater dreams? I’ve noticed that sometimes the downside of the local’s mentality is that they are satisfied with “Good Enough”. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Great people and companies take risks and are able to change or adapt to whatever it needs to do to succeed… to be the best. These successful entities are not satisfied to be best in the neighborhood nor nation for that matter… like Olympians, they want to be the best in the world. Is that Kahuku I ask?

BTW… awesome game! Loved every minute of it!

  10. 88 September 18, 2016 9:42 am

@BG Alumni- if Kahuku wants to be the #1 football program in the nation they need to do a lot more than just work on speed and a balanced offense. They need to get the top talent not only from Hawaii but from all over the country. However they make do with what they got and what they got held the 2 time National Champs and current #1 team in the Nation to a scoreless first quarter, a 14-7 score going into the half, 7 points in the third quarter and making the #1 team in the country play all four quarters to assure the win.

  11. JohnF. September 18, 2016 9:43 am

BG ALUM, glad you liked the game and props to you if you attended and supported your team. Yes, in order to be the best, you need the best. Facilities, training room, weight room, financial support and great coaching. Kahuku has great athletes, community support and a great coach. Needless to say, they are located on the farthest corner of Oahu. Far away from the city center. Oh and they are a public school. All thanks to BG for giving us the opportunity to witness a stellar program and “state of the art” facilities. Coach Tata did an outstanding job in his first year at Kahuku resulting in an undefeated season and the Division 1 State Championship. I’m sure Tata would like to invite BG but the Kahuku field with mud and weeds would be to much of a “eewwwhh” factor, lol. Mahalo for a great game experience!

  12. al September 18, 2016 9:48 am

@RRFLBaby “As far as passing game, c’mon people, Sol-Jay is a freshman qb. It does take time to develop a passing game. ”

The kapolei qb last year was a freshman as well. He threw for more than 50 yards a game and he didn’t get a verbal offer from Jim Harbaugh in the 8th grade. And now as a sophomore, June Jones is taking that kid to greater heights. And the haters can say “well Waianae killed them and Kahuku probably will too,” and that’s true, but that doesn’t mean the offense is bad. It just means that waianae and kahuku are just so physically dominant that scheme doesn’t matter against kapolei.

My point is that I’m sure Sol-Jay could be a really good qb. And yes, it does take time to develop a passing game, but as of September 18 2016, he has averaged about 10 pass attempts a game with about 50 yards passing per game with only 3 tds. That means to me that Kahuku isn’t interested in developing any kind of passing game.

  13. al September 18, 2016 9:53 am

Kahuku may win states, but going off of how they’re playing now, I guarantee you that Taulia Tagovailoa will be MUCH more ready to play qb at the next level as a pocket passer in the run and shoot (even if they don’t win states during his high school career) than Sol-Jay Maiava will be throwing for 50 yards a game off of play action.

But Kahuku really is a good football team and the favorites to win states. But with their style of play, I don’t think anyone but the most delusional thought that they could realistically beat BG. But it’s good to support and root for your team and for Hawaii boys wherever they play.

  14. BG Alum September 18, 2016 11:00 am

No disrespect intended. Kahuku has a great football team… don’t get me wrong. I only ask where are they trying to go? What is their long term vision? Are they satisfied with being the top neighborhood team? If they want to be the best, they need to be willing to do things differently. I once heard the definition of insanity as: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

I read other post where some say there are a lot of successful folks from the Kahuku school. Start with soliciting those alumni for financial support to build the start of the art facilities folks mentioned about. Alumni of schools play a huge huge role in financial support. If the program is only going to rely on public assistance from the DOE, then that’s a poor or bad business plan right of the bat. Got to be smarter than that!

    Good luck!

  15. AOK September 18, 2016 11:44 am

Everyone crying that BG was throwing until the end, get yo heads outta yo a$$es. If i remember correctly, and I do, thats exactly how renaud when get injured. So chut yo mouf.

Like yall like to remind us, if you no like us run our caveman, pop warner, 3rd grade flag football, simpleminded offense, then stop us. Well, same goes here then. If you no like BG pass against your supposed all time great, no fly zone secondary, then stop him. Lololololol, double standard hypocrites. Cant wait till tourney, you know if there is even one this season. Again, why kahuku stay getting their panties in one bunch for? I mean, you did win last yr, ya know? Or you guys already forgot bc all those hits you been takin to the head.

  16. 88 September 18, 2016 1:12 pm

You the only one getting your panties in a wad. I mean 3rd grade flag football offense… Are you serious? You telling me every team in Hawaii is losing to a 3rd grade flag football offense…. That’s terrible.

  17. anywaaaays!! September 18, 2016 1:19 pm

Kapolei is developing their soph QB for college, while their Oline and RB’s suffer because they will not play in college if they dont know how to run block. THE ONE IS GREATER THEN THE WHOLE

Kahuku develops Oline, Running backs, and all 11 defensive positions. THE WHOLE IS GREATER THEN THE ONE. and that is why we have sent more players to the NFL then any other school in the USA. Look at any polynesian in the NFL and they are playing Oline,Dline or Linebacker. Its in the DNA of polynesians and Kahuku is smart to stick to their polynesian roots.

  18. AUWE September 18, 2016 1:23 pm

@AOK. Didn’t see anything wrong with them passing in the last seconds, gotta compete till da buzzer, you not going tell one boxer to stop punching just because he winning da fight. Same goes with all sports. Compete till the end.. Only thing I seen wrong with that is no sense risk one injury when you already got it locked down. Look what happened to us against aiea. Pointless

  19. Paper Crane September 18, 2016 2:00 pm

    Over 118 comments like awesome read and I believe that should be all of it so anyway;

BIG WIN for experience and that’s for everyone that made up Red Raiders Nation like that’s history and like mostly any individual champion or team at once or twice suffer losing and so what’s next and what do we fix and where do we go next is questionable but optimistic and only positive with staying focus and becoming wiser now that’s honest athletic academics.

If you didn’t notice that Kahuku Red Raiders football is unstoppable ask the JV what they been doing like the future is GROWTH for Red Raiders Nation and be thankful all you RR4LIFERS like our academics got tons of althletic seeds and so don’t stop now to cultivate our hungry youth cause they sure know what smash mouth Red Raiders is all about.
    Enjoy RR4L

  20. red x September 18, 2016 2:01 pm

    @aok
Renaud is a backup QB and when backups are in they want to play! I would understand if it was a backup QB for BG throwing at the end but it was martell. I mean who does that with seconds left. For me I knew we had no chance against BG and it did turn out that way. Also, with kahuku losing badly and about see all this bad comments from you guys it’s going to really fire them up. So by all means keep on bashing away

  21. anywaaaays!! September 18, 2016 2:19 pm

I have no problem with BG trying to score again at the end. Man up and stop them, thats what Kahukus DBs did.

Anyways I have a feeling the boys are very very disappointed in the results and will play super duper hard the rest of the season. I Feel sorry for who ever Kahuku plays next.

With all the trash talk on Kahuku and their one dimensional offense, the state of Hawaii better hope Kahuku dont win states again this year because that would mean Hawaii football is terrible if they cant beat Kahuku.

  22. al September 18, 2016 2:35 pm

@anywaaays “Kapolei is developing their soph QB for college, while their Oline and RB’s suffer because they will not play in college if they dont know how to run block. THE ONE IS GREATER THEN THE WHOLE”

It doesn’t mean that at all. It means their oline and RBs aren’t physically talented enough to make it to the next level, but are talented enough to compete in the state. Kapolei is a really good team and they play really good team ball in all phases. Kahuku’s success in sending their players to the nfl (compared to other high schools) isn’t beucase of some “THE WHOLE IS GREATER THAN ONE” philosophy that you just made up on the spot, as if Kahuku is the only one that thinks this. Kahuku just has flat out better athletes. Those athletes would succeed in any offense and would’ve made it at the next level regardless.

“With all the trash talk on Kahuku and their one dimensional offense, the state of Hawaii better hope Kahuku dont win states again this year because that would mean Hawaii football is terrible if they cant beat Kahuku.”

No. Pay attention: Kahuku has superior athletes all across the board. They’re also one of the top football teams in the state because of this and was #17 in the country. This is why their one dimensional offense works. NOBODY IS SAYING KAHUKU SUCKS. Get this through your head right now. Keep your inferiority complex in check.

Their kids would succeed in ANY offense because of the caliber of athlete but Kahuku chooses to play jumbo sets and dive left, right, and middle, because it’s simple and they can physically dominate at the point of attack. What people are saying is that Kahuku should develop at least a semi-competent passing offense to be a more solid team (especially when they come across a team that can score on them and not be bullied at the point of attack: BG, st louis a few years ago. Miliani a few years ago with Milton and Timoteo when mililani won states, etc).

So if Kahuku wins states this year, it doesn’t mean the rest of Hawaii football sucks. It means that Kahuku is the best team in the state regardless of their pop warner offense. Top to bottom, their athletes are that much better.

  23. anywaaaays!! September 18, 2016 3:31 pm

al – tell me what school you graduated from and lets discuss what needs to be done to get them better, why you care so much about Kahuku? why dont you go apply for the head coaching job at Kahuku since you sound so brilliant

and you are wrong, Kahuku does not have better athletes, we are just more focused and united in a cause, that is to win football games as a team thus my statement “THE WHOLE IS GREATER THAN THE ONE” …think about that for a second….it means exactly how it sounds….ALL HEART and PASSION.

I know many athletes all over the island that are studs but they are not united and bonded with a group of teammates that they can call FAMILY, everyone worried about whats in it for them and what school I can start at or get more carries or playing time. All about the individual bro, at Kahuku its all about the team, community, and all the generations of red raiders but you wouldnt understand that cause you are missing the point on everything you are talking about. RR4L

  24. Rickey September 18, 2016 3:32 pm

Lmao! Get over it already. Us local people was overrating kahuku. They came out to Vegas and just got served. Plain and simple. They ain’t that good. Who cares. They’ll probably win another state title and get know respect from anyone outside of Hawaii when it comes to football. That smash mouth football they claim that BG has never seen before was correct. Who in the hell has 8 down line men no receivers while in shotgun formation. Hahahahaha! Nobody sees that crap offense. BG probably wishes they could play against kahukus offense every week.

  25. al September 18, 2016 4:19 pm

anywaays: “tell me what school you graduated from and lets discuss what needs to be done to get them better, why you care so much about Kahuku?”

    It’s a kahuku article.

” why dont you go apply for the head coaching job at Kahuku since you sound so brilliant”

I have coached. I went to an unnamed big private school in hawaii, played division II ball (wasn’t good enough for DI) and coached in the OIA for a bit as an assistant before leaving my teaching job and moving on to a different career field. None of this matters, though, so I don’t see the point in you asking me this.

” All about the individual bro, at Kahuku its all about the team, community, and all the generations of red raiders but you wouldnt understand that cause you are missing the point on everything you are talking about. ”

You are delusional if you think Kahuku doesn’t have superior athletes overall. you are also delusional if you think that Kahuku is the only school that is team oriented or has “heart.” Darren Hernandez is a friend of mine and it’s actually offensive that you think that the culture of football that he brings is all about the individual and not the team. You know nothing.

You are also EXTREMELY delusional if you don’t think Kahuku parents aren’t pressuring coaches for playing time and trying to insert themselves in the coaching process (including what offense to run, pulling kids off the field during practice to protest… Siauki Livai, anyone? Alan Akina?).

Kahuku has great community support and is a great team that is a favorite to win states this year, but stop blindly drinking the kool aid. That’s what was causing Kahuku fans here to say “BG has never seen a smashmouth team like us!!! RR4L!”

  26. 4life01 September 18, 2016 4:35 pm

We have heard it all too long about us being one dimensional. I dont know whats worse. A one dimensional team that continues to win year after year. Or a bunch of other schools that cant stop a one dimensional team from winning year after year.

    GO FIGURE!!!!

al – seriously you need to get a life, you are chalking up X’s and 0’s on an internet blog to a bunch of retards like (Rickey, AOK..) You are the typical townie that thinks he knows whats best for Kahuku, well why dont you take your words and put it to good work and make the kids in your area better, since you are too scared to tell us where you from cause you shame of your alumni school and its easier to bash the school that is in the public eye. Auwe! no can these part timers.

Do us all a favor and stay in your lane. You dont understand the culture that is Kahuku, we do things differently from a physical, spiritual and mental aspect. Why you calling our offense popwarner when our coach and former oc is stlouis alum? you dont think they know something that you dont? apparently so because they went 13-0 to win a state title last year

I appreciate your concern for our well beings but if we were all like your friend that coaches at that westside school who tries to hard to be like the ILH then we wouldnt be where we would be would we? think about that….let it sink in….stay in your lane….Kahukuans are going to kahuut! You like come in to kahuuts with us? lol ooooooooooophaaaaa!

Pathetic. And here I thought you were actually gonna say something interesting. I’m talking football on a football blog, as a former player and coach (also, I’m not from town, but that doesn’t matter either), you just want to do personal attacks because you actually know nothing about football at all and you feel threatened when people disagree with your worldview. You really are pathetic and delusional and are giving kahuku fans a bad name.

But that’s okay. I’m done talking to you. Keep drinking the kool aid, bruh. RR4L.

Don’t forget to mention the SPREAD. Don’t think they covered. Maybe that’s why there is so many disgruntled posts.

I think people are upset because they paid to watch a football game between two powerhouses. But what they saw was one powerhouse (BG) and one team with fans who chirp on a blog and didn’t come to win the game. They played to run the clock and get out of Dodge quick.

BTW did you have fun with me the other night 88? I did!

There about 50 or more teams that can do the same if they choose to stall and milk the clock. The other teams come to play BG, they open up the playbook, and they take chances. They might lose bigger, but at least they put it on the line. They come to compete. Kahuku came to not get embarrassed.

The irony is they got embarrassed by not coming to compete and milking the clock. There’s no honor in that and there’s no honor is stalling so you don’t get smashed. So lame.

Play all 4 quarters to assure the win? What game were you watching? Anyone who understands football knows at no point in this game was BG going to lose. The game was over after the first series. Kahuku wasn’t going to win running 3-5 plays.

You are just crazy and might still be intoxicated from last night. You should be banned from watching football for that comment.

They had to play 4 quarters to assure the win!!! HAHAHAHA! They won by 28 and Kahuku had like 2 yards of offense. hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

Look its “I love 88” the former DC from Kahuku that hates the LB’s? This guy so sour because Tata took the defense to a whole ‘nother level on the backs of the Ltown boys! RR4L…no room for part timers!

  33. i love 88 September 18, 2016 6:21 pm

@ AL, the word on the street is the the former OC, John Hao got fired mid-season since he wanted to make the offense more diverse and use more packages than the Jumbo package. He also wanted to pass more and try to develop the qb and receivers more. But with heat from the community, the HC had to get rid of him.

I don’t know if this is true, but a lot of very reputable people are telling me it is.

Watching the replay of the BG game on youtube. Yeah we got our lick’ins we’ll admit to that…

…but if you look carefully Big Red is far far far from their potential, Its obvious that they will be peaking in the post season just like last year. This Frosh QB will do damage in the state tourney mark my words.

You guys will win because you are physically superior. You could run an offense with no coach and a preschool playbook and still win. Please don’t make like there is some great teaching, coaching, or execution going on.

When you were born bigger and stronger than others you are going to win 9/10 times if not more.

Now if this was a math or reading test than you would be Division 5. Is there a league that low?

  37. Ken September 18, 2016 7:21 pm

If that’s supposed to be the o line and smashed mouth football that BG has never seen before then you better wake up! That Kahuku performance was crap! If you’re going to schedule Gorman to show what you got then you should have actually had a playbook instead of a play sticky note. I mean really? And all of you that say you’re so proud of the team. Proud of what? That? Next time schedule a lesser team from Vegas that you’ll lose to by less. There’s so many schools here that would stop that caveman offense. Try inviting Liberty HS to come to you and watch them dominate you on your field. Yes that liberty team that came to Hawaii and lost to St. Louis with half their team but put up 73 on Mililani when they came up here. They’re much better this year too! It’s a damn shame too cuz Kahuku has some talent and if coach would stop being stubborn and mix it up you’d be much better. Enjoy settling for state titles knowing you’re a weak state champ.

  38. 88 September 18, 2016 8:13 pm

Stop with the excuses. The only thing Liberty has in common with Kahuku is that they both lost to BG. Other than that Kahuku would mop the floor with them. Every team that has played BG since 2013 has lost. To say Kahuku didn’t try shows you have some type of resentment and jealousy towards the team. Win or lose Kahuku must haunt your dreams because you sure have a lot to say about them.

  39. anywaaaays!! September 18, 2016 8:38 pm

We have been hearing it for 16 years too long about us being one dimensional. I dont know whats worse. A one dimensional team that continues to win year after year. Or a bunch of other schools that cant stop a one dimensional team from winning year after year.

It took the #1 team in the Nation to stop our one dimensional offense.
Back in Hawaii there are plans to send two of the ILH teams at Kahuku to stop that One dimensional offense
Its a good thing that BG invited Kahuku and not an ILH team, because the ILH would have sent two teams up to vegas to try and beat gorman.

    GO FIGURE!!!!

  40. anywaaaays!! September 18, 2016 8:56 pm

Where is educationfirst? I challenged him to bet $5k on the spread but he chickened out and only wanted to bet straight up win/loss. What a coward.

    crickets……….!!!!!!!

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HHSAA_State_Football_Championships#Past_HHSAA_State_Football_Championship_Results

To be honest, a lot of Kahuku fans here sound like a bunch of clowns. Kahuku is good. They won 8 of the 17 HHSAA championships so far but 0 prep bowls. but people have beaten kahuku before. Don’t make like only bishop gorman stopped Kahuku and Kahuku never lost to anybody in Hawaii. And you guys wonder why people picking on you guys in this blog. all you gotta do is read your guys’ posts. You Kahuku guys here make me laugh. I don’t even like ILH and I root for Kahuku when they play any team except for leilehua, but you guys taking the ILH bashing and conspiracies to a whole new level lol.

And I know you guys going be like “leilehua sucks ever since andrew manley graduated! shut your mouth cuz you just hating!!” or whatevers. That just only proves what I’m saying lol.

    #behumble

  42. Ken September 18, 2016 9:35 pm

88 you’re right they do have that in common. But liberty scores more points and is more creative offensively and tries to win and not try not to lose by a lot. Kahuku would have lost by way more if they didn’t milk the clock as if they had the lead. Liberty went to Texas and beat one of their top teams this year and beat Arbor View which has a similar caveman style as Kahuku. In fact Arbor View would beat Kahuku too! Excuses? Excuses about what? You guys have all the excuses! Kahuku haunts my dreams? Huh? Only reason I’m even commenting on this forum is cuz you guys wanted to act like Gorman never seen an O line like this blah blah. More like you guys never seen an o line like Gormans. Their runs up the middle worked over and over unlike Kahukus. And how about that D? Never saw one like that either! Now the Red Raiders and you know how it feels to get some of their own medicine! Excuses. Haunts my dreams. Please. That take is about as trash as that team you’re all fired up about!

  43. anywaaaays!! September 18, 2016 9:47 pm

Ken what school did you go to?????? yup thats right ….crickets….change your screen name and come back talk smack with another identity because you are shame of your alma mater.

If Kahuku is trash but is King of Hawaii then where does that put St. Louis and Punahou?
Easy to hate the team on top when your view is from the bottom of the dumpster.

  44. Jeezy33 September 18, 2016 9:55 pm

@anywaaaays “If Kahuku is trash but is King of Hawaii then where does that put St. Louis and Punahou”

Why do you keep bringing up Saint Louis and Punahou? This is like the fifth time you’re bringing up these two schools who have nothing to do with BG or Kahuku or Kahuku’s caveman offense. Who’s even talking about them aside from you? Do you have some deep seated issues with those schools? Did a Punahou or Saint Louis boy steal your chick back when you were in high school?

Please seek professional help because this is starting to get REALLY weird.

  45. 88 September 18, 2016 9:59 pm

Trash? Your team couldn’t beat the #2 team from Hawaii and you want to talk trash. Not only did you guys get throttled by the #2 team from Hawaii your offense was in affective. 43-16. You remember that? And how does Kahuku milk the clock when our defense was on the field longer than our offense. BG did a very good job converting on 3rd downs to extend their drives.
The 1st quarter of the Kahuku/BG game it was 0-0. The 1st quarter of the Liberty/St. louis game it was 21-0. Half time of the Kahuku/BG game it was 14-7. Half time of the Liberty/St. louis game it was 34-8. Now who is getting blown out here…. Kahuku lost to the #1 Team in the Nation. You guys were murdered by the #2 team from Hawaii. See the difference. Hows that for medicine…..

  46. anywaaaays!! September 18, 2016 10:01 pm

Since Ken is so uptight that his alma mater Mckinley is not too good nor his college alma mater UH warriors are not that good he rips on Kahuku. If it makes him feel any better here is one thing that we both should agree on.

Lets keep the ILH in its own conference and have a one game championship like the old prep bowl days. The OIA fan boys would be happy with the distinct seperation of the conferences. Now since we all love our 808 high school football why dont we root for a team like Punahou or St. Louis to stack their rosters with all the elite talent around the state, not for the purpose of winning a prep bowl title but for them to travel to the mainland to take on the BG’s of this world.

A BG parent told me that they were in awe of Kahukus support and told us that if we wanted to get on the same level as BG we need alumni and booster donations to better our facilities and yes, recruit. Kahuku will never be able to do that because of DOE, but our ILH schools are already doing that and if the blessings of the OIA fan boys are behind it we could easily beat BG or any other team in the country. Im down for that because I know not only will Kahuku boys be on that team but all the elite talent around the state.

The ILH alumni are approaching this conference alliance the wrong way, they are pissing off the OIA fan boys because they are using their recruiting abilities to beat up on the OIA schools. ILH should leave the OIA alone and make it clear that they want to go national.

  47. Mules Pride September 18, 2016 10:01 pm

i changed my mind. Kahuku fans aren’t a bunch of clowns on this blog. Only Anywaaays is lol. And in case you wondering, anywaaays, this isn’t me hating on Kahuku. This is me hating on you.

  48. Matuu Pulotu September 18, 2016 10:08 pm

Sounds like a blog for retired NFL coaches and analysts. Perhaps you should all be in coaching (if you aren’t already) and sharing all that wisdom you guys seem to be exuding from every orifice of yours. Relax, its a football game, its about the kids in the end not about all of the wannabe coaches and has beens. Sure we (Red Raider nation) hoped for the win and believed it could be done but reality hit and we lost. We all witnessed a top tier program with all the bells and whistles and what a top notch system can do for prep athletes. We know what we need to work on and will do what we can to improve. For all you locals who continue to take out your frustration on our boys game and the result, lay off and move on. This is a life learning lesson as it is never only about football. We went in believing we can win (what team ever goes into a game not doing so?) And we have never ran up the score even though it may appear by the end count, we always have our reserves in and our defensed and special teams have scored many points that makes it look that way but it could have been a lot worse for many of our games. If you are willing to come have lunch at Papa Ole’s to share some of your guys infinite wisdom, holler at me and lets hook up sometime. I love talking football and strategies, schemes, etc., And lay off the boys…they are high school athletes trying to do the best they can for their communities. Don’t let what ever horrible experience(s) you may have had be projected on them as they are growing and learning through this season. Good luck to all and see you all on the field, in the stadium and most likely back on the comment sections where many are more willing to share their feelings. Go BIG RED.

  49. Ken September 18, 2016 10:17 pm

Change my screen name to what? And what does that have to do with anything where I went to school? My screen name is my real name not like anywaaaaaays!!! What is that? If it makes you feel better I went to Campbell way back when Kahuku was regular and we beat you 19-0. Look it up I’m sure you will. I live in Vegas for a long time and have friends and family that go to Gorman and I support them and the team that beat the king of Hawaii! Who cares about St. Louis and punahou theyd get blown out too! Enjoy that state championship cuz it means nothing to anyone up here. Gorman goes for national championships no less. Also considering how the game went looks like Kahuku is in the bottom of the dumpster still trying to run straight going nowhere when they should just try something different and climb out. Nice try!

  50. Ken September 18, 2016 10:28 pm

That was last year. This year Liberty would beat both your best schools. And if not then oh well Gorman still did. I admired the support that you guys give your team staying till the end but that really doesn’t mean anything. Keep getting mad folks the facts are the facts you guys loudly stated that your O line would be too much and that you’d win because of it. Apparently not!
