Within two hours, there were more than 100 texts and a whole lot of calls on Shane Sasaki‘s phone. That’s the life of a future professional baseball player. The Tampa Bay Rays made Sasaki their third-round selection, the No. 99 pick, in the MLB First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday. The ‘Iolani senior batted .565 with 26 RBIs and 26 runs scored as a senior, and was voted to the Star-Advertiser All-State team.
