Punahou all-state offensive lineman Semisi Uluave signed a letter of intent with the University of California at Berkeley this morning at the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance ceremony. Uluave, a 6-foot-6, 315-pound senior, opted for Cal over several other programs, including Oregon. “I felt like Cal is the best fit for me, and it’s the No. 1 public university in the country, in the world,” he said. Saint Louis quarterback Tua Tagovailoa received offer No. 8 from a college last week, according to a post by Doris Sullivan on the Pacific Islands Atheletic Alliance website last week. One problem for those schools, however, is they have to wait. Tagovailoa is only a sophomore and has two years of high school football left. Ole Miss is the latest suitor — and the first from the SEC — in pursuit of Saint Louis quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance (PIAA) shared the news on Wednesday about the 6-foot-1, 190-pound sophomore. Tagovailoa also has offers from UCLA, Texas Tech, Hawaii, USC and Colorado. Saint Louis offensive lineman Fred Ulu-Perry hasn’t wavered in his early commitment to UCLA. The 6-foot-2,5, 295-pound left tackle committed to UCLA before his senior year began. “I’m a UCLA commit, 110 percent,” he texted on Monday night. The computer is fickle, to say the least. Mililani slipped four notches to No. 21 in the latest CBS MaxPreps Top 100 Computer Football Rankings released on Monday. The Trojans (13-0) won the state football championship on Nov. 21. In the same rankings, Punahou (8-1) dropped nine spots to No. 51.
