USC lands commitment from Saint Louis’ Iosefa

Jordan Iosefa, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker who sat out last season after transferring from Waipahu to Saint Louis, has committed to USC according to Scout.com. Iosefa had other offers from Oregon State and Hawaii but was a relative unknown because he didn’t play last season. In a span of 10 days, Nate Herbig has gone from under the radar to blowing up in the spotlight. His performance at the recent GPA Maximum Exposure Camp, where he was named co-Offensive Line MVP, capped a wondrous stretch. It’s taken some time for recruiters to take notice, but Nate Herbig seems to be on a roll now. Liberty High School of Henderson, Nev., will play two Hawaii football powerhouses, Mililani and Saint Louis, on consecutive weeks in the upcoming season. The Patriots, who went 10-3 and lost to Bishop Gorman in the Nevada Division I state semifinals a year ago, will play Saint Louis at Aloha Stadium on Aug. 29. The start time is TBA. Nate Herbig is biding his time just fine. The mammoth offensive lineman from Saint Louis received his third football scholarship offer on Sunday, this one from Oregon State. Scholarship offer No. 14 has arrived for Saint Louis quarterback Tua Tagovailoa: Arizona State. Pacific Islands Athletic Association shared the news on its Facebook page tonight. Tagovailoa last received an offer on May 9 (Louisville). He passed for 2,571 yards and 33 touchdowns in 10 games with just three interceptions. Washington State became the second FBS school to make a football scholarship offer to Saint Louis junior Nate Herbig. The Cougars made the offer to the 6-foot-4, 320-pound offensive lineman on Monday. San Diego State made an offer to Herbig in early March.
