In a span of 10 days, Nate Herbig has gone from under the radar to blowing up in the spotlight.
His performance at the recent GPA Maximum Exposure Camp, where he was named co-Offensive Line MVP, capped a wondrous stretch. The 6-foot-4, 320-pound Saint Louis junior received two scholarship offers — from Cal and Colorado — this morning. That makes it six offers since May 31 and eight in all.
Both Cal and Colorado coaches were in attendance at the Maximum Exposure Camp, studying and scouting in 91-degree heat at the University of Hawaii’s Clarence T.C. Ching Field.
There are still a multitude of quality linemen like Andru Tovi (Mililani) and Julius-Pedro Muasau (Punahou) who remain under the radar, but for Herbig, momentum is on his side. He tweeted this morning’s news.

Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance also posted the news on its Facebook page.
Herbig is built for pass protection, evidently, but acknowledged after the first night of the camp (Friday) that he relishes every opportunity to go downhill on run blocks. That’s what the OL did on Saturday in set schemes as a unit against DL units. He also thrived in Sunday’s pass-pro challenge between OL and DL 1-on-1s.
The former Kauai player tweeted this on Sunday.

Thankful for MVP, but I am only going to work even harder, after this camp experience. Erase every doubt why I can’t be the best! #hungry
Herbig’s updated list of offers: San Diego State, Washington State, Oregon State, Texas Tech, Hawaii, UNLV, Cal, Colorado.
