Spikers lead LOI fall signing class

A dozen volleyball players were among nearly three dozen student-athletes who signed their letters of intent early Wednesday morning at the Elks Lodge in Waikiki. The event, hosted each signing season by Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance (PIAA), featured a multitude of sports for the fall signing period. Report: Kaumatule commits to Oregon

The Oregonian has reported that Punahou defensive end Canton Kaumatule has orally committed to the Ducks. Kaumatule reportedly committed to UO on Friday while visiting the campus. Photos on the site show Kaumatule enjoying Oregon’s 45-16 win over Stanford. His older brother, Luke Kaumatule, is a junior defensive end for Stanford. Manu ‘leaning’ toward Oregon

Mililani senior defensive tackle Rex Manu confirmed Monday that he is not committed to any school at this point. He was once orally committed to Stanford, but recently de-committed from the Cardinal. Saint Louis wide receivers get plenty of attention every day from Cal — Coach Cal Lee, that is. As of Friday, however, it was another Cal that took interest in a speedy junior wide receiver for the Crusaders. The University of California at Berkeley made Drew Kobayashi a scholarship offer, his first and probably not his last. Kobayashi’s mother, Resi, confirmed the offer by Cal. A focus video on Saint Louis offensive lineman Fred Ulu-Perry by Scout.com is online. The video shows Ulu-Perry’s dominance despite Saint Louis’ 63-14 loss to defending CIF state champion St. John Bosco on Friday. Ulu-Perry committed to UCLA in July, but this video is likely to attract more attention from recruiters. See the video here.

Scout.com elevates Fehoko

Scout.com has lifted Farrington defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko to 5-star status, the highest level, after watching him perform on Saturday. See the Scout.com story by Scott Kennedy, which was published today, here. Farrington held off Kapolei, 28-26. Fehoko was disruptive from the start, nearly blow up several handoff exchanges. He finished with two sacks. Fehoko committed to Texas Tech in July. The 6-foot-3, 286-pound senior has more than 30 scholarship offers.
