Mililani running back Vavae Malepeai left for an unofficial football visit to Oregon on Wednesday night. The Ducks are at the top of his pecking order — out of the 18 FBS Division I schools that have offered him scholarships — and he told OregonLive.com earlier this week that he’s 50-50 on giving his oral commitment there. In a span of 10 days, Nate Herbig has gone from under the radar to blowing up in the spotlight. His performance at the recent GPA Maximum Exposure Camp, where he was named co-Offensive Line MVP, capped a wondrous stretch. UH offers Kahuku’s Santiago

All-State safety Keala Santiago received a scholarship offer from the University of Hawaii on Sunday afternoon. The 6-foot, 180-pound junior had just completed the GPA Maximum Exposure Camp on the campus of UH when Coach Norm Chow made the offer. “He talked about the opportunity to play for UH,” Santiago texted on Monday morning. Santiago is a blazer who was one of Kahuku’s big-play returners on special teams last season. He also has offers from Colorado, Navy, Army and UNLV. […]
