Tagovailoa rises in Scout.com rankings

Saint Louis junior Tua Tagovailoa is the No. 1 uncommitted quarterback for the Class of 2017 according to Scout.com. Tagoaviloa is rated as the No. 40 overall prospect at any position and fourth among quarterbacks in the latest rankings released on Thursday. The top three are Bishop Gorman QB Tate Martell (Texas A&M), Guyer’s (Tex.) Shawn Robinson (TCU) and Valor Christian’s (Colo.) Dylan McCaffrey (Michigan). Saint Louis defensive back Isaiah Tufaga has landed a scholarship offer from the University of Hawaii. Tufaga, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound sophomore, announced the news on Twitter on Sunday. BYU lands Kahuku’s Latu; Utah gets Anae

Kahuku senior linebacker Hirkley Latu signed with Brigham Young on Wednesday. Latu had offers from California, Hawaii, Washington State, Oregon State, Utah and Utah State. Latu was one of eight Kahuku defensive players selected to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser all-state first team in December. Kahuku went 13-0 and won the state title. Kahuku defensive lineman Bradlee Anae signed with Utah, picking the Utes over Oregon State, BYU, Vanderbilt and Virginia.

USC lands Malepeai in signing day shocker

Mililani senior running back Vavae Malepeai had been committed to Oregon for nearly a year. And now he’s going to USC. The state’s all-time leading rusher made a last-minute switch, signing with USC at the PIAA event at Sheraton Waikiki on Wednesday morning after being committed to Oregon since last summer.
