PIAA LOI Day: Uluave signs with Cal

Punahou all-state offensive lineman Semisi Uluave signed a letter of intent with the University of California at Berkeley this morning at the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance ceremony. ‘Manti Te’o has not forgetten where he came from. Te‘o, the San Diego Chargers star, presented a check for $10,000 to the Kahuku football team on Saturday. Lakalaka commits to San Diego State

Punahou’s Ronley Lakalaka has given an oral commitment to San Diego State University. Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance shared the news on Friday morning. Lakalaka, a 6-foot, 210-pound outside linebacker, was an All-State second-team selection. He is currently on the Punahou Division I basketball team and also competes in track and field. He is the younger brother of Hawaii running back Steven Lakalaka.


Uluave makes list of top-3 choices

Punahou offensive lineman Semisi Uluave will visit two more colleges recruiting him and plans to make his decision on where to play football on Feb. 4, national letter of intent signing day. Three players from Hawaii were selected to play in the 2015 Under Armour All-America game today in St. Petersburg, Fla. The game is being shown live on ESPN2 at 11 a.m. Saint Louis offensive lineman Fred Ulu-Perry (6-3, 307), who is committed to UCLA, is listed as the No. 4 offensive guard prospect by ESPN.com but is expected to play center for the Bruins. Punahou WR Noa commits to Cal

California Golden Blogs has reported today that Punahou wide receiver Kanawai Noa has committed to play for the University of California. Noa caught 58 passes for 1,113 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. He also returned two punts and one kickoff for TDs. He was a Star-Advertiser All-State first-team selection as a junior. The 2014 All-State team will be published on Christmas Day.

Punahou’s Trifonovitch offered by UH

Punahou senior Alex Trifonovitch has been offered an opportunity to play football for the University of Hawaii. Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance announced the news on Monday night. Trifonovitch was Punahou’s starting punter and backup placekicker. Both he and starting PK Jon Toner have touchback range on kickoffs. Trifonovitch averaged 40 yards per punt in two state-tournament games this fall.

San Diego State offers Punahou LB Lakalaka

Punahou linebacker Ronley Lakalaka has received a scholarship offer from San Diego State. Pacific Island Athletic Alliance made the news public this morning. Lakalaka, a 6-foot, 210-pound senior, was part of a stellar defense that helped Punahou win the ILH championship and reach the state tournament final. Lakalaka, younger brother of University of Hawaii running back Steven Lakalaka, also plays basketball for the Buffanblu. Former Mililani defensive end/tight end Dakota Turner is a redshirt freshman defensive lineman for SDSU.
