Kalani closes season on high note

By Christian Shimabuku on September 29, 2017

No team wants to have its season end in September, but no team wants to end its season with a loss, either. With full knowledge that Friday night’s contest would be its last of the season, Kalani rode the electric arm of Seth Tina-Soberano and kept its foot on the pedal in a 41-13 rout of Kalaheo in what doubled up as homecoming and senior night for the Falcons. “It’s great to end the season like this. It’s great to […]

Kalani hasn’t beaten Waipahu since 1972 when Fancy Misipeka was carrying the load. That’s 10 losses in a row. Kalani quarterback Seth Tina-Soberano (ribs) will not play tonight. Falcons hope to have him back for Roosevelt game next week. Senior Justin Gatewood expected to get […]

Tina-Sobarano has Kalani in good hands

By Christian Shimabuku on August 26, 2017

Based on his ’88’ jersey number and speed, Kalani senior Seth Tina-Sobarano might look like a converted wide receiver playing quarterback. But make no mistake, he’s exclusively a quarterback. And he proved it with his arm in the Falcons’ 57-24 win over McKinley on Saturday night at Ticky Vasconcellos Stadium. The third-year Falcons starter was 14-for-20 for 302 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Many of his deep balls were delivered with just the right combination of power and touch. […]
