Punahou adds Ahuna to athletic staff

Reydan “Tita” Ahuna is working for the Punahou athletic department, associate athletic director Kale Ane confirmed Wednesday. Ahuna, the highly successful athlete and coach at various schools and levels, is an athletic associate for the department. “She is working with education for coaches at every level of the school,” Ane said. “She is getting input from successful coaches outside the school and learning about their processes and finding out what works and what may benefit our coaches. ILH boys soccer in free-for-all race

The ILH boys soccer race looks like it’s going right down to the wire. In Division I, ‘Iolani (7-1-1) is in the driver’s seat, followed by Punahou (6-2-2) and Kamehameha (6-3-1). The three teams are fighting for two D-I state-tournament berths. Graham and Furuta win OIA scoring titles

Kailua’s Naia Graham and Mililani’s Tia Furuta captured the OIA boys and girls soccer scoring titles. Graham scored 20 goals, two more than Kapolei’s Shandon Hopeau, who had 18. Four OIA boys players were tied for third place with 15 goals each — Kalaheo’s Jhonah Felipe, Kalani’s Takahiro Kosins, Moanalua’s Tyler Morton and Waianae’s Stanton Spencer. Trojans claim OIA West soccer title

Mililani captured its second consecutive OIA West title on Friday by shutting out Leilehua 8-0 at home on Friday. The Trojans are 9-1 and will be the top seed from the West, and earned a first-round bye in the OIA tournament. Matautia to join Hawaii

Two time Star-Advertiser first teamer Solomon Matautia is staying home. Matautia, a safety from Campbell, switched from Oregon State to Hawaii according to his Twitter account.
