Moanalua and UNLV alumnus John Oda is sitting pretty in a tie for second place after the first round of the PGA Wyndham Championship on Thursday in Greensboro, N.C. Oda shot a 7-under 63 and is tied with Ryan Moore behind Brandt Snedeker, who stole the headlines with a 59. HAWAII GROWN: Hanaoka honored with No. 1 jersey

Northwestern football has a tradition established in 2011 of giving the No. 1 jersey for the season to a deserving student-athlete. This year’s recipient of that jersey is Chad Hanaoka a 2014 ‘Iolani alumnus who made his on-field debut for the Wildcats in the 2016 Outback Bowl as a redshirt freshman against Tennessee. Former Kamehameha quarterback Fatu Sua-Godinet, who spent two seasons at Delaware State as a receiver, has transferred to Washington and is listed on the Huskies’ fall roster. Sua-Godinet, who joined the team as a preferred walk-on, will wear No. 85 and is listed as 6 feet and 186 pounds. Sua-Godinet was the full-time starter at quarterback for Kamehameha as a sophomore and junior. He moved to receiver for his senior season but also played some quarterback due to injuries. He […]

Oregon alumna Alyssa Tobita, a 2014 Mililani graduate, began her professional career on Sunday with a win in the Tennis Championships of Honolulu. Tobita, a two-time All-Pac-12 second-team selection while with the Ducks, swept former World No. 18 Alexandra Stevenson 6-1, 6-4 in the first event of a five-week U.S. Open Wild Card Challenge Series. HAWAII GROWN: UCF launches MIlton #HIsman bid

Central Florida released a video and launched a website to begin the campaign for a potential Heisman Trophy winning season for junior quarterback McKenzie Milton, a 2016 Mililani alumnus.
