PUKALANI >> Kamehameha has won the first two sets 25-12, 25-12 against Pearl City in opening-round play of the HHSAA Division I Girls Volleyball State Championships at KS-Maui’s campus. More soon. UPDATE, 10:37 p.m.: Kamehameha wins in three sets, 25-12, 25-12, 25-17. Pearl City seemed as cold as the weather outside — winds were 30-40 mph at times, leveling rain sideways. The Chargers made it real interesting in the third set, but by then, it was a little too late.

PUKALANI >> Two sets are done and it’s even between Castle and Waiakea in the opening round of the HHSAA Division I Girls Volleyball State Championships at the Kamehameha-Maui campus. Waiakea won the first set 25-19 and Castle took the second 25-21. Waiakea is the runner-up from the Big Island Interscholastic Federation.
