Castle-Waiakea update: Final

PUKALANI >> Two sets are done and it’s even between Castle and Waiakea in the opening round of the HHSAA Division I Girls Volleyball State Championships at the Kamehameha-Maui campus.

Waiakea won the first set 25-19 and Castle took the second 25-21.

Waiakea is the runner-up from the Big Island Interscholastic Federation. Castle finished fourth in the Oahu Interscholastic Association.


More updates here as the match progresses.


UPDATE, 6:23 p.m.: Castle won Game 3 25-18.


UPDATE: 6:49 p.m.: Waiakea won Game 4 25-19. Awaiting Game 5. Also, they’ve announced here that Kaiser defeated Moanalua at the other site (King Kekaulike).

UPDATE: 7:20 p.m.: The Warriors rally to win the final set 15-7 and advance in the tourney. Waiakea will play co-host Kamehameha-Maui tomorrow in a 7 p.m. match.
