Hukilau team back in Vegas 7-on-7

Coach Darren Johnson’s Hukilau Cafe team is back in Las Vegas for the Pylon 7v7 tournament this weekend. Last year, his squad was entirely comprised of Kahuku players. This time, he has a mix of players from across Oahu. The roster: Chyson Bo Stokes Botelho Koolau Feltmen Kekaula Kaniho Laakea Look Randolph Manewa Kumoku Noa Royce Pao Keala Santiago Draeton Thompson Ephraim Tuliloa Isaiah Tufaga Assistant coaches are Jarrett Kaniho, Keala Santiago and Wes Tufaga.

It’s gotten to the point that any 24-hour stretch without a football scholarship offer for Michael Eletise feels odd, strange and maybe a bit like the calm before a supernatural storm. Eletise, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior at Kaiser, received an offer from San Diego State early Tuesday evening. That makes it 16 offers for the talented offensive lineman. Utah State makes it 15 offers for Eletise

Utah State is on the chase for Kaiser offensive lineman Michael Eletise. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior received an offer from the Aggies today, making it 15 scholarship offers in all. Ten of the offers have arrived in the past two weeks. Eletise announced the news on Twitter and Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance also shared the news on its Facebook page. From the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic, coaches are really, really enamored with Michael Eletise. Today, it’s Florida State that wants the Kaiser offensive lineman to consider their scholarship offer. Wazzu offers Malepeai a scholarship

Just one day after receiving a scholarship offer from Utah State, Vavae Malepeai has received one from Washington State. Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance shared the news on its Facebook page (PIAA Hawaii) this afternoon. The Mililani junior now has offers from Colorado, Washington, Hawaii and Cal in addition to USU and Washington State. On Thursday, shortly after Washington became the 11th university to offer Michael Eletise a football scholarship, the Huskies’ in-state rival made an offer of their own according to his father, Nofo Eletise. Washington State made it a dozen offers for Kaiser’s 6-foot-4, 305-pound offensive lineman. Former Gov Luafatasaga commits to Ole Miss

Former Farrington athlete David Luafatasaga made an oral commitment to play football for Ole Miss next season, according to the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance Facebook page. Raised in Samoa, Luafatasaga played linebacker for the Governors in football and forward in basketball before graduating in 2013. He is 6 feet 4 and 225 pounds and had 66 tackles for Arizona Western last fall as a freshman. Arizona State and Hawaii also offered Luafatasaga scholarships.
