Waiakea clinched a spot in the Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division I football championship game with a 29-14 home victory over Kealakehe on Saturday. By virtue of its 36-10 victory at Kamehameha-Maui on Saturday, Lahainaluna clinched the Maui Interscholastic League Division II football championship and earned a berth in the D-II state tournament. It’s the 10th straight MIL D-II championship and for the Lunas (5-3, 4-2). The last MIL D-II champion other than Lahainaluna was King Kekaulike in 2006.
