Club football touches down for all college students in Hawaii

Club football is about to become available to college students across Hawaii via a program called Hawaii 8. The plan, which is being put forth by the nonprofit Hawaii Football Club, is to put five teams on the field for competition next spring and beyond. You don’t have to wait until the first weekend in August to watch Hawaii high school-age football teams going at it. They’ll be doing it this weekend in the Island 7v7 Classic football tournament at Aloha Stadium. Games will run Saturday and Sunday in all the youth age divisions. Lawyer unsure if Kaiser football parent will appeal

Kaiser football parent Gregory Tartamella‘s lawyer does not know if they will be appealing last Friday’s guilty verdicts in a Circuit Court jury trial. Tartamella will be sentenced May 8 after he was found guilty of second-degree assault, two counts of harassment, and first-degree terroristic threatening. Punahou to visit Long Beach Poly for football this fall

Punahou will play Long Beach Poly in football this fall, according to Buffanblu coach Kale Ane. The game is scheduled for Aug. 31 at a site to be determined in Southern California. “We asked if they had an opening weekend and it turns out they had an opening date but had to switch their schedule around a bit to make it work,” Ane said. Prep football 7v7 national qualifier coming to Hawaii

The National 7v7 Association is bringing a football tournament to Hawaii. The top four teams in all age divisions of the Island 7v7 Championship on March 16-17 will advance to the nationals in Atlanta. But the big prize is a paid trip to the nationals for winners in each age group.
