The Kauai Interscholastic Federation tentative football schedule is out. In addition, Waimea athletic director and KIF football coordinator Jon Kobayashi confirmed that the league will be declaring for Division II for state tournament purposes. Konawaena is moving up to Division I in BIIF football, according to a league source close to the situation. The news was first reported by West Hawaii Today’s J.R. De Groote. The decision was finalized at the league’s monthly meeting Wednesday. With the Wildcats moving up, there will be six teams in the D-I race this fall. The seventh annual GPA Showcase Hawaii will be held on June 4 and 5 at Kamehameha.
