Top-seeded Lahainaluna and second-seeded ‘Iolani squared off in the Division II final of the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Football State Championships at Aloha Stadium. ‘Iolani took control from the start en route to a 31-14 win, collecting its eighth D-II state crown in the last 11 seasons.

Uluave bypasses hoops to focus on football

Mililani 16th in MaxPreps computer ratings

The Mililani Trojans are getting a little more attention since their upset of Punahou in the Division I championship game at the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Football State Championships on Friday. Mililani (13-0) rose 12 spots to No. 16 in the CBS MaxPreps National Computer Ratings, which were released today. Punahou (8-1) fell 15 notches to No. 34. Punahou senior Kanawai Noa, who is the first player ever with three 1,000-yard receiving seasons and the all-time career receiving leader with 3,510 yards, is the offensive player of the year.
