Drummondo, Pana to take reins in Hilo

Defensive coordinator Kaeo Drummondo will join Lisa Pana as interim co-head coaches of the Hilo football team, a trusted source told Hawaii Prep World on Monday night. The news was also reported on BigIslandNow.com on Tuesday. Head coach David Baldwin was placed on indefinite leave Monday for an undisclosed reason. Kapolei’s Auwae reveals top 6 college choices

Apparently it’s decision time for Kapolei’s Toleafoa Sean Auwae. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman narrowed his college choices to six on Tuesday via Twitter and said he will make his decision public on Friday, the same day the Hurricanes host Kahuku for the first time on their home turf to open the OIA regular season. Hilo football coach placed on leave

The Hilo Vikings football team is without its head coach. Coach Dave Baldwin is “on leave” while administrators look into a complaint made against him. After a meeting at the school on Monday night, sources say the team will have co-head coaches for Saturday’s game at Punahou, and Baldwin will not be one of them. After knocking off previously-ranked Kaiser to open the 2015 high school football season, the Kapolei Hurricanes made quite the jump into the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Top 10 Media Poll released Monday. Kapolei, which showed a new look on offense, put up an impressive seven touchdowns in a 49-28 win over the Cougars.
