Salanoa is new Punahou wide receivers coach

Kale Ane‘s All-Star football staff at Punahou is growing. Fred Salanoa, who stepped down from his head coaching position at Radford after leading the Rams to the Division II state championship last fall, is now under Ane as the Buffanblu’s wide receivers coach. The former Radford and Eastern Washington quarterback will have a stellar cast of receivers to work with, too. A quarter of the U.S. Men’s Olympic Men’s Volleyball Team who will compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, are from Hawaii. Kamehameha and Southern California alum Micah Christenson will be joined by Stanford alums Kawika Shoji (‘Iolani) and Erik Shoji (Punahou) on the 12-member team that will open play August 7 against Canada.
