2017 ILH football schedule

Hawaii Prep World received a 2017 Interscholastic League of Honolulu varsity football schedule Saturday. The schedule is not finalized and subject to change, but, according to a league source, it is close to finalized and changes, if any, are expected to be minimal. The regular league season first round starts Sept. 1 and runs through Oct. 7. The league’s second round will run the weekend of Oct. 13-14 and Oct. 21. Hawaii High Performance leaves for nationals

The USAV Aloha Region High Performance team leaves today to play in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The tourney will be on July 18-22. Head coach John Ing is assisted by Warren Ando and Lee Lamb. The program has played in every HP championship since 2003.

Buckner will serve as a captain for Poly Bowl

Punahou graduate and current San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman DeForest Buckner will serve as one of two honorary captains for the 2018 Polynesian Bowl in January at Aloha Stadium. Buckner, the No. 7 overall pick of the 49ers, was the Pac-12 defensive player of the year in his senior season at Oregon and also a first team All-State selection in football at Punahou.
