Polynesian Bowl adds Kailua offensive lineman

Kailua offensive lineman Sione Veikoso has been invited to the 2018 Polynesian Bowl. Veikoso, who is 6-foot-8 and 290 pounds, holds Division I scholarship offers from BYU, Hawaii, Oregon State and Washington State. Kaiser will forfeit next 2 football games

Kaiser’s beleaguered football team got more bad news Wednesday, when the school decided that it would be forfeiting the next two games, according to a source high up in the school’s administration. The announcement is not a surprise. The Cougars had already canceled three of their games (including two league forfeits) due to low roster numbers. Kapolei has another invited to Polynesian Bowl

Kapolei defensive lineman Aaron Faumui, who has also played on the offensive side of the ball this year, has been invited to the 2018 Polynesian Bowl. Faumui, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds, won the Division II state title as a sophomore at Radford before transferring to a school in Utah his junior year. McKinley sophomore Alexandria Buchanan made history last month as the first female quarterback to throw a touchdown pass in a varsity game in Hawaii. St. Francis junior Bubba Akana, who plays football, basketball and baseball for the Saints, has committed to play baseball for Hawaii beginning in 2020.
