Hitting over .400 is not a common feat, not on the baseball diamond nor on the volleyball hardwood. The ‘Iolani Raiders put together a 25-9, 25-17, 25-19 sweep of Waianae on Monday night with resilient defense and passing at Father Bray Athletic Complex. When Mililani and Kahuku meet in 12 days in the OIA championship game, voters in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Top 10 favor the Trojans. Mililani, which improved to 10-0 with a 42-6 thumping of Waianae in the OIA semifinals on Friday at Aloha Stadium, jumped Kahuku for the No. 2 spot in the latest Honolulu Star-Advertiser Top 10 released today. Jordan Taamu, the former Pearl City star quarterback, stepped into the role of the Ole Miss starting quarterback after Shea Patterson went down with an injury in a 40-24 loss to LSU on Saturday, according to news sources, including the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. Patterson, a sophomore, tore ligaments in his knee. He leads the SEC in passing yards with 2,259.
