Only two athletes ran the 40-yard dash in an electronically-timed 4.4 seconds at the Polynesian Bowl Combine last weekend. Coaches at the receiver position got their look, hours worth of reps, at the Polynesian Bowl Combine on Saturday. By the end of 7-on-7 competition, nearly seven hours after the day had started, Leilehua senior Keawe Andres stood before his peers. There was a time, in the midst of championships for Kahuku football, wrestling and judo, when Reggie Torres never really imagined life without coaching. Today, the longtime coach and glue guy for Kahuku on campus is a Kamehameha Warrior. Kamehameha hired Torres on Friday to become a co-athletic director.
