By Jerry Campany on February 21, 2018

Hawaii was the first to the party in the world of girls high school wrestling, but apparently it still has a lot of catching up to do. Eight states currently sanction all girls tournaments, yet only two state champions from the Aloha State — Kelani Corbett of Leilehua and Kahuku’s Teniya Alo — are deemed among the top 10 in their class in today’s national rankings released by USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum. Kahuku’s Alo tops final girls pound-for-pound top 10

By Hawaii Prep World on February 21, 2018

The top two spots in Hawaii Prep World’s girls pound-for-pound rankings stayed consistent for the entire year. Kahuku senior Teniya Alo pinned her way to the 138-pound state title to end her career as a three-time state champion and the No. 1 pound-for-pound wrestler in 2017-18. Leilehua’s Kelani Corbett, who will surely take over the top spot to begin next year, added her third state crown to keep alive her hopes of a state slam. After the top two, there […]
