Campbell ranked No. 1 for first time this season

OIA baseball playoffs begin Wednesday

The OIA baseball tournament will run Wednesday through Saturday with the Division I and Division II championship games taking place at Les Murakami Stadium on Saturday. Roosevelt came out victorious in a winner-take-all softball matchup against Kaiser on Saturday night, winning 8-4 and taking with it the top seed in the OIA East heading into the playoffs that start on April 25. Under second-year head coach Ron Marciel, Saint Louis went 8-0-1 to win the ILH title and land a league-best five players on the Honolulu Advertiser’s ILH all-star team in 1966. Senior halfback John Coen of McKinley was named the back of the year, and Saint Louis’ starting center and linebacker, Sanford Obra, was named lineman of the year. High school club lacrosse soldiers on

Club lacrosse still has life in Hawaii high schools. There are five teams in the state, including three on Oahu — Saint Louis, Punahou and the Sharks (a team of students from many schools). The other two teams are on the Big Island — Konawaena and Hawaii Prep. This is the first year the sport is being offered at Saint Louis.
